Let’s face it, here in the UK, freezing temperatures aren’t just an issue through the month of Christmas. Our winters now seem to drag on for far longer with riders experiencing freezing temperatures well into March and April. With that in mind, a riding surface that won’t turn solid as a rock when the temperature drops is now a must have. Foley’s Equestrian Surfaces are frost resistant, with our customers still being able to ride on a safe and supportive surface well into minus 10 temperatures.
Wind resistance, something that’s very much needed here in the UK. Even when the temperatures have risen, the wind still blows strong and the last thing any rider wants is to be struggling with a face full of surface during their transitions. Likewise, there’s nothing worse than half your surface having blown away over night during a storm. With Foley’s Equestrian Surfaces, you can sleep soundly knowing your surface will stay where it’s meant to, regardless of the weather.
Our carpet fibre products are made using new automative carpet from the likes of Jaguar, Land Rover and BMW. Not only are they wire and contaminant free but it also means we’re repurposing products which have already been made, as opposed to generating an entirely new product thus reducing the carbon footprint and reducing waste from the automotive industries. It’s for this reason that we’re accredited by Carpet Recycling UK and we work very closely with the Environment Agency.
There’s no such thing as a maintenance free surface but Foley’s is as low maintenance as they come. Simply ensure you remove droppings after you’ve ridden, remove any debris such as leaves and branches and ensure hooves and tyres of any vehicles are clean before entering the arena. This will prevent any debris entering the base of the surface and ultimately affecting the stability over time. You should also ensure you regularly level the arena and check to ensure the surface and base remain level over time.
